Lesson in biking: Cobblestone. 'Nuff said. Lesson over.
Hey hey, family! Sorry, this email is probably going to be really short. Life here in Alessandria is so great! We started last week with an extra-long scambio with the sisters in Vercelli. They've been having a rough couple of transfers and one of them will actually be going home this Friday morning because of health issues. Her companion, Sorella Montagnoli is a ROCK. She was an STL for four transfers and then was released to head to Vercelli. So I scambioed with her this time and, holy smokes, she is incredible. I learned so much from her. She dies (we're talkin' mission death here) in two weeks. And she has not slowed down one bit. I just love her. I want to die like her. Working hard up to the very last second. On Saturday night we did a singing mostra. Basically we just went to a piazza, one of the Anziani had a guitar and we just sang hymns. SO AWKWARD. But once you get over the initial awkwardness, it gets fun. That's something that Sorella Palumbo would tell me all the time: "Sometimes being a missionary is just awkward!" (No, her saying that usually didn't help...) We had a day of miracles on Monday that I have no time to explain... Just know that miracles are happening! We had interviews with President yesterday. The interviews have gradually gotten less and less scary, so that's really nice. ;)
Well, as some of you may have noticed, I'm hitting my year mark tomorrow. Woo Happy Pioneer Day! I'll actually be in Torino doing a scambio there, so that'll be fun! Sorella Hoffman and I will be getting some celebration gelato tomorrow night when we reunite, since it's my mission year mark and her "in Italy" year mark. We're just gonna party it up. Anyway, other than that, we're basically just dying of humidity here. Oh how I miss the dryness of Utah. Seriously. I cannot wait to step off that plane JUST for that reason. The humidity might kill me. I drink more water than I ever have in my entire life. IT IS SO HOT. Right now it's raining and the thunder is crazy. I love it. I'm not super excited to bike in it, but...la vita è così! If anyone wants to send me a poncho that I can carry around in my bag, I wouldn't hate it. :) (Really though...please send me a poncho. Cool thanks.) Alright, gotta run. AMORE.
